CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION OF POLVESE ISLAND
The Polvese Island is a Green Room of the Province of Perugia and an Environmental Education Center (CEA) of the Regional Network of Umbria.
The Polvese Island was, in fact, declared by the Province of Perugia as a “scientific-educational park” dedicated to environmental education, didactic experimentation, scientific, naturalistic and anthropological research. The Park’s environmental education and ecotourism activities are coordinated by the Aula Verde – Environmental Experience Center of Isola Polvese managed by Plestina Ambiente e Territorio.
Polvese Island is located in the south-eastern part of Trasimeno and with its 70 hectares it is the largest of the islands of the lake.
The Center offers a wide range of services designed specifically for families and children with thematic itineraries, day visits and school camps of varying length.
